Trips: Trip Planner to Plan & Manage Your Travel

A self-drive trip has you hiring a car and then travelling around Iceland under your own steam, staying in different locations and sight-seeing based on your interests. There’s a lot to see and do in Iceland, and you could easily fill up two or three weeks here. There are also many attractions within easy reach of Reykjavik, so even if you just did a two or three day stopover, you’d still be amazed by how much natural beauty you could fit in.

If you’re travelling in a group of 10 or more people, we’ll help you to keep things simple and focus on enjoying the journey.
The city is steeped in Scottish heritage and historic architecture, including New Zealand’s only castle.
The interesting thing is that although the skyscrapers are made of metal and glass, they are always clean.
Transport– Where possible it’s helpful to book transport in advance.
For example, how much a taxi might cost from the city center to one of the sights outside the city.
If you are really pushed for time flying may be an option.

Flights tend to get more expensive as time goes on, so booking in advance is advised, especially if you want to travel during school holidays. If you’re staying in a city, we usually recommend basing yourself in the historic center so that you’re within walking distance of popular tourist attractions, restaurants, and bars. But cities like Zürich also have creative, modern districts outside of the center, which make for interesting bases as well. In an Alpine destination such as Zermatt, Saas-Fee, or Gstaad, we like cozy, traditional hotels that really impart a sense of place.
